Why use an English pronunciation tool?
Dictionaries tell you what a word means, but English spelling rarely tells you how it sounds. Hearing words in context — at a speed you control — trains your ear, and speaking them back with instant feedback builds the muscle memory for clear pronunciation. Students, teachers, professionals preparing for presentations and parents helping children read all use this tool daily.
Browser support
Listening works in every modern browser. Speaking practice uses the Web Speech Recognition API, available in Chrome, Edge and Safari (desktop and mobile). The number of voices depends on your operating system; Chrome and Edge include high-quality online voices for all four accents.
